Atlas Crest Investment Corp.

A special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC — a "blank check" firm that raises money through an IPO with the sole purpose of merging with a private business to take it public. Founded in 2020 as an affiliate of the financial advisory firm Moelis & Company, it merged in 2021 with Archer Aviation, a maker of all-electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, and the combined company took the name Archer Aviation Inc. A fun detail: the SPAC's chairman was Ken Moelis, the founder of the advisory firm that backed it.
