Syros Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
A biopharmaceutical company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, that develops "gene control" medicines targeting the regulatory genome—the DNA regions that switch genes on and off—to treat cancers and blood diseases like acute myeloid leukemia. It was founded in 2011 with help from the venture firm Flagship Pioneering. The name Syros is a phonetic play on "super-enhancers," the master-switch gene regions at the heart of its science.
