A global energy technology company that builds the machinery behind the world's power—heavy-duty gas and steam turbines for power plants, wind turbines through its Siemens Gamesa arm, and the grid technology that moves electricity from generator to home. It became its own company in 2020 when Siemens AG spun off its gas and power division, trading on the Frankfurt exchange that year. The Siemens name reaches back to Werner von Siemens, who co-founded the original firm in 1847, a legacy of German engineering now carried into the energy world.
