Gmo Internet Group, Inc.

A Japanese internet conglomerate that runs some of the country's most-used online basics: domain registration through onamae.com, web hosting, cloud services, online payments, and cybersecurity. It traces back to 1991, when founder Masatoshi Kumagai started a business that later took the name GMO — short for "Global, Media, Online." One of its more surprising moves came in 2017, when the company began paying part of its employees' salaries in Bitcoin and even built its own cryptocurrency-mining chips.
