Arkema SA
A French maker of specialty materials and chemicals, Arkema produces fluoropolymers and coatings sold under brands like Kynar, used to protect everything from pipes to building exteriors. It was born in 2004 when oil giant Total spun off its chemicals arm, formerly known as Atofina, and listed it on the Paris stock exchange in 2006. Its Kynar 500 coating was used on the window extrusions of the Louvre Museum's iconic glass pyramid.
