A closed-end investment fund that pools money to buy a portfolio of municipal bonds — the tax-exempt debt issued by cities and states to build things like schools, roads, and hospitals — aiming to hand shareholders income free of federal income tax. It trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker DSM and was founded in 1989.
