Mercedes-Benz Group AG

A maker of luxury cars and vans, Mercedes-Benz Group AG builds the familiar sedans, SUVs and wagons that carry the three-pointed star, plus the high-performance AMG, ultra-luxury Maybach and all-electric EQ models. It traces back to Karl Benz's 1886 Patent-Motorwagen, often called the first automobile, and to Gottlieb Daimler's engine firm, which merged in 1926 to form the brand. The name "Mercedes" came from the daughter of an Austrian businessman who raced Daimler cars under her name—a girl who never cared much for cars at all.
