Loxo Oncology, Inc.
A biopharmaceutical company that develops targeted medicines for cancers driven by specific gene mutations, best known for Vitrakvi, the first cancer drug approved by the FDA to treat tumors based on a genetic marker rather than where they grow. Founded in 2013 by a former FDA medical officer, it was acquired by Eli Lilly in 2019. Its name comes from Loxo, a nymph in Greek mythology who served the goddess Artemis and represented the trajectory of an arrow.
