A maker of software and digital marketplaces for the insurance, financial, travel, and healthcare industries, Ebix builds the systems insurers, brokers, and agents use to manage policies, claims, and data exchanges, along with its EbixCash financial-services brand in India. It began in 1976 in Atlanta as Delphi Information Systems, and its name is a blend of "Electronic Business Insurance Exchange," adopted after it launched its ebix.com portal in 1999 and rebranded in 2003.
