Fenner Plc
A maker of conveyor belting and industrial polymer products used mainly in mining and heavy industry. Founded in 1861 by Joseph Henry Fenner, a leather "currier" in Hull, England, the firm began by crafting leather belts for powering factory machinery. Today it is part of the Michelin Group, which bought it in 2018, and its belts help move coal, ore and other materials around the world's mines. A notable twist: after a 1950 colliery fire, Britain's National Coal Board asked Fenner to develop fire-resistant conveyor belts — a request that shaped its modern business.
