A German software company that makes and sells technical design software for engineers, architects, and manufacturers — tools for CAD (computer-aided design), CAM (manufacturing), and BIM (building modeling), plus its own "booster" add-ons. Founded in 1984 by Adi Drotleff near Munich, it began by distributing Autodesk's design software before building its own products. Its name literally means "man and machine," chosen to reflect the partnership between people and computers in engineering.
