A maker of cloud-based video hosting and streaming software, Brightcove helps businesses, media publishers, and other organizations put video on their websites and apps through products like Video Cloud and the Brightcove Player. It was founded in 2004 by Jeremy Allaire, a developer behind Macromedia's Flash, and Bob Mason. The company is named after Bright Cove Harbor in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where one of the founders enjoyed kayaking.
