African Gold Acquisition Corp
A special purpose acquisition company, or "blank check" firm, formed in 2020 to find and buy a gold mining business with operations in Africa. It was led by Robert Hersov, whose father once ran the mining house AngloVaal, and it raised money through an IPO to hunt for a target. The company never completed a merger and was delisted from the New York Stock Exchange after its former chief financial officer admitted to embezzling funds and was sent to prison.
