A coal mining company that digs high-energy thermal coal from the Illinois Basin using longwall underground mining, supplying utilities and industrial buyers from its Sugar Camp and Hillsboro mine complexes in Illinois. It was founded in 2006 by Chris Cline, a West Virginia coal miner's son who as a child was paid to fill bags with dirt for mine blasting. The name reflects the foresight Cline showed in betting on the region's high-sulfur coal when many rivals had abandoned it.
