A distributor of specialty metals and supply-chain services, known to customers as Castle Metals, serving manufacturers in industries that need high-performance alloys. It was founded in Chicago in 1890 by Alfred Martin Castle, then just 24, who hauled raw steel — tubes, rivets, and beams — off railroad docks in a horse-drawn wagon and delivered them to local shops and factories. That one-man start grew into one of the world's larger metals distributors, keeping the founder's initials in its name.
