Meadowbrook Insurance Group Inc

A specialty commercial insurance underwriter and risk-management firm, Meadowbrook Insurance Group designs and administers property-and-casualty coverage for trade associations, professional groups, public entities, and affinity groups. It began in 1955 as the Meadowbrook Insurance Agency in southeastern Michigan, founded by Mert Segal, and became a pioneer of the "alternative risk" market when it set up its first Bermuda-based captive program in 1976. Though the corporate name later became AmeriTrust, the Meadowbrook brand lives on as a subsidiary agency.
