Maidenform Brands, Inc.
A maker of women's intimate apparel, Maidenform is best known for its bras, panties, and shapewear sold in stores across the United States. It was founded in 1922 by dress-shop owners Ida and William Rosenthal and Enid Bissett, who invented an early uplift bra by adding two cups to the flat "boyish form" vests of the flapper era. The name "Maidenform" was chosen to set their supportive design apart from that flat-chested style.
