Merge Healthcare Incorporated
A maker of medical imaging software that helps hospitals store, share, and view CT and MRI scans across different machines and departments. Founded in 1987 by William Mortimore in Milwaukee, the company got its name from its mission to "merge" incompatible imaging devices from different manufacturers so they could talk to one another. It later became Merge Healthcare after a 2005 merger with Cedara Software and eMed Technologies, and was acquired by IBM Watson Health in 2015.
