North European Oil Royalty Trust
A passive trust that collects royalty payments from oil and gas fields in northwestern Germany, where the actual drilling is done by subsidiaries of ExxonMobil and Shell. It was organized in 1975 as the successor to two earlier royalty companies, and it holds overriding rights under the vast Oldenburg concession in Lower Saxony. The trust never drills a well itself — it simply verifies production and passes the income on to its unit holders.
