Alexanders Inc
A real estate investment trust that owns and operates commercial properties in the New York City area, most notably the tower at 731 Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. The company began in 1928 when George Alexander opened a department store in the Bronx, and the Alexander's chain grew into a beloved New York retail name before the family shifted the business into property ownership. Its flagship store's name lives on in the company, even though the retail days are long gone.
