Diplomat Pharmacy, Inc.

A specialty pharmacy that manages and dispenses medications for people with complex, chronic conditions, Diplomat Pharmacy grew from a single Flint, Michigan drugstore into one of the largest independent specialty pharmacies in the United States. It began in 1973 as Ideal Pharmacy, and when Dale Hagerman and his son Phil took it over in 1975 they renamed it Diplomat after the shopping plaza it sat in — a name they also liked for its promise of taking good care of patients.
