Lasalle Hotel Properties
A real estate investment trust that owned upscale, full-service hotels in big US cities and resort towns, such as Boston's Westin Copley Place. Launched in 1998, it took its name from LaSalle Partners (today Jones Lang LaSalle), the firm where founder Jon Bortz worked before spinning its hotel assets into the new public company. Fittingly, Bortz later led Pebblebrook Hotel Trust—the firm that bought LaSalle in 2018, merging the two into one of the country's largest lodging REITs.
