A developer and manager of upscale apartment communities, Post Properties was an Atlanta-based real estate investment trust known for its garden-style complexes with meticulous, tulip-adorned landscaping. Founder John A. Williams launched the business in 1970, famously running early meetings from a table at an IHOP restaurant because he had no office. The company was absorbed by Mid-America Apartment Communities in 2016.
