American Residential Properties, Inc.
A real estate investment trust that bought, renovated, and rented out single-family homes across the United States, turning foreclosed houses into rental properties for families. Its roots go back to 2008, when co-founders Stephen Schmitz and Laurie Hawkes began building a platform to acquire distressed homes and lease them at scale; the company was formally incorporated in 2012. In 2016 it merged into American Homes 4 Rent, one of the country's largest single-family rental landlords.
Common Stock — Acquired by American Homes 4 Rent (AMH) effective 2/29/2016; each share converted to 1.135 AMH shares.
