Bre Properties, Inc.
A maker of apartment communities, BRE Properties was a real estate investment trust that owned, built, and ran rental apartment buildings, mostly along the California coast. Founded in 1970 and based in San Francisco, it paid shareholders an uninterrupted quarterly dividend every year from its founding until it was bought out in 2014. That year it was absorbed by rival Essex Property Trust, which folded BRE's buildings into its own portfolio and kept the Essex name.
Class A Common Stock — Acquired by Essex Property Trust (ESS) on April 1, 2014; delisted.
