Siliconware Precision Industries Co., Ltd.
A Taiwanese company that packages and tests the silicon chips powering phones, computers, and cars, working behind the scenes for semiconductor makers. Founded in 1984 in Taichung by former engineers from an older chip-assembly firm, it grew into one of the world's largest outsourced semiconductor assembly and test providers before joining ASE Technology Holding in 2018. Its name pairs "silicon," the material chips are made of, with "precision," a nod to the microscopic exactness of the work.
