Clarus Corp
A maker of outdoor gear and adventure accessories, Clarus Corporation owns the climbing and skiing brand Black Diamond plus Rhino-Rack, used by mountaineers, skiers, and outdoor travelers worldwide. Its roots go back to the 1950s, when climbing legend Yvon Chouinard forged pitons on a backyard anvil and sold them from his car in Yosemite. When his original company collapsed, its own employees bought it in 1989 and renamed it Black Diamond, which Clarus acquired in 2010.
