Mineralys Therapeutics, Inc.
A clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing treatments for high blood pressure and related heart and kidney conditions driven by an excess of aldosterone, a hormone that regulates the body's mineral and fluid balance. Its lead medicine, lorundrostat, is an oral pill designed to curb aldosterone at its source for people whose hypertension won't stay controlled with standard drugs. Founded in 2019 by physician-venture capitalist BT Slingsby and based outside Philadelphia, the company originally launched under the name Catalys SC1 before renaming itself Mineralys in 2020—a nod to the "mineral" hormones it targets. It licensed lorundrostat from Japan's Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma and went public in 2023.
