Lyra Therapeutics, Inc.
A maker of long-acting drug-delivery devices for the ears, nose, and throat, Lyra Therapeutics developed bioresorbable nasal implants that slowly release an anti-inflammatory steroid directly into the sinuses to treat chronic rhinosinusitis. The company was founded in 2005 under a different name (WMR Biomedical) by celebrated scientists including drug-delivery pioneer Robert Langer, and it renamed itself Lyra in 2018 — roughly a decade before it halted work on its lead implant in early 2026.
