Foley Trasimene Acquisition Corp

A blank-check company, or a SPAC, that raised money from the public to buy a business and take it public. Founded in 2020 by payments veteran William "Bill" Foley, it targeted fintech and outsourcing firms, ultimately merging with Alight Solutions, a cloud-based benefits-and-HR software provider, in 2021; the combined firm now trades as Alight, Inc. The "Trasimene" in its name comes from Lake Trasimene in Italy, site of a famous ancient Roman battle.
