Clementia Pharmaceuticals Inc.

A Montreal-based biopharmaceutical company that developed treatments for ultra-rare bone disorders, most notably palovarotene for fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) — the "stone man" disease in which muscles and tendons slowly turn to bone. Founded in 2010, it acquired rights to palovarotene from Roche and was later bought by Ipsen, which won approval for the drug as Sohonos. Its name comes from the Latin for compassion, also the Roman goddess of mercy.
