A maker of spine and orthopedic devices, Orthofix builds spinal hardware, bone-growth stimulators, and limb-reconstruction systems used by surgeons and hospitals around the world. It was founded in 1980 in Verona, Italy, by orthopedic researcher Giovanni De Bastiani and a team of surgeons and an engineer, and is now based in Lewisville, Texas.
