Louisiana Bancorp, Inc.
A bank holding company that ran the Bank of New Orleans, Louisiana Bancorp, Inc. served personal and commercial customers in the Greater New Orleans area with loans, deposits, and everyday banking at its branch offices. The bank's roots stretch back to 1909, and in 2007 the holding company was formed after the bank sold from a mutual to a stock institution. One quirk: in 2008 it was one of the few banks to decline the federal bailout loans from the government's TARP program.
