Metropcs Communications Inc
A provider of no-contract, prepaid wireless phone service, selling phones and data plans to budget-conscious consumers in US cities. It was founded in 1994 as General Wireless, Inc. by two former paging-company executives, then relaunched as MetroPCS in 2002, the name blending its focus on metropolitan areas with "PCS," the industry term for digital phone service. In 2013 it merged with T-Mobile and later rebranded as Metro by T-Mobile.
