Kronos Worldwide Inc
A maker of titanium dioxide (TiO₂) pigments, the bright white substance that gives paints, coatings, plastics, paper, and even cosmetics their whiteness and opacity. Its roots stretch back to 1916, when the company's predecessors first produced the pigment; in 1989 its operations were reorganized under the KRONOS brand, with facilities across Europe and North America. The name comes from the Greek Titan Kronos, originally used for an early plant in Fredrikstad, Norway.
