Ssga Active Trust
A legal investment structure that houses actively managed exchange-traded funds from State Street Global Advisors, the investment arm of State Street Corporation founded in Boston in 1978. Its parent company launched the first US-listed ETF, the SPDR S&P 500 Trust, in 1993. Fun fact: "SPDR" stands for "Standard & Poor's Depositary Receipts" but is pronounced "spider" — developers briefly considered "SPIRS" (pronounced "spears") before rejecting it over the imagery of spears tossed around the trading floor.
Actively managed ETF that invests at least 80% of net assets in first-lien senior secured floating-rate bank loans, seeking current income consistent with capital preservation. Sub-advised by Blackstone Liquid Credit Strategies LLC.
