A specialty pharmaceutical company that buys and markets prescription medicines for patients with hard-to-treat conditions, including the migraine pain reliever Cambia and the dissolve-on-your-tongue seizure film Sympazan. It began in 1995 as Depomed, a California drug-delivery firm, before renaming itself Assertio in 2018 — the name chosen to signal an "assertive and decisive" new mindset — and later reorganizing as Assertio Holdings. A memorable touch: Sympazan is the first FDA-approved oral film version of clobazam, designed to melt on the tongue with no crushing, mixing, or water.
