Earthstone Energy, Inc.

An independent oil and natural gas explorer and producer in the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico, Earthstone Energy grew by buying up smaller regional operators — a roll-up strategy — before being absorbed into Permian Resources in 2023. It was born in 1969 as a geophysical service company called Basic Earth Science Systems and only took the name Earthstone Energy in 2010 as it remade itself into an oil producer.
