A real estate investment trust that owns luxury hotels and resorts, often under famous flags like The Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, and Marriott in prime city and vacation destinations. It was born in 2013 as Ashford Hospitality Prime, a spin-off from Ashford Hospitality Trust, before renaming itself Braemar in 2018. The name honors Braemar Castle in Scotland, keeping with the castle-themed naming tradition of its Ashford roots, which had drawn on a castle in Ireland.
