US Ecology, Inc.
A handler of hazardous waste, this company treated, recycled, and disposed of industrial and specialty waste for businesses across North America, running its own disposal sites in places like Beatty, Nevada. Its roots go back to 1952, when it began as Nuclear Engineering Company, and it later took its US Ecology brand in the 1980s after industrial conglomerate Teledyne spun off its waste disposal assets. In 2022 the company was bought by one of the largest U.S. trash haulers, Republic Services.
