Ricebran Technologies
A maker of ingredients drawn from rice bran, the thin outer layer scraped off rice during milling. Its stabilized rice bran products go into human nutrition foods and high-quality animal feed. The company was founded in 1998 as NutraCea, merged in 2005 with RiceX, and renamed itself RiceBran Technologies in 2012 to reflect its focus. The fun part: raw rice bran goes rancid within hours, so the company's stabilization process keeps it fresh for months.
