Basic Energy Services, Inc.
A Texas oilfield services company that kept oil and gas wells running across the United States' onshore basins, Basic Energy Services used fleets of truck-mounted rigs to repair and maintain wells and hauled water to and from drilling sites. It began in 1992 as Sierra Well Service before taking the Basic Energy name in 2004 from its Fort Worth headquarters. A fun quirk: its workover rigs acted like mobile mechanics for wells, performing the upkeep that keeps existing wells producing oil and gas.
