Threshold Pharmaceuticals Inc
A biotech firm that developed cancer therapies designed to spring into action only inside tumors' low-oxygen cores, with its lead experimental drug being evofosfamide. Founded in 2001 in South San Francisco, the company's name comes from its approach of targeting the oxygen "threshold" separating diseased tissue from healthy cells. After that drug faltered in late-stage trials, it combined with Molecular Templates in 2017 and the merged business took that name.
