Invesco Db Commodity Index Tracking Fund
A commodity exchange-traded fund, DBC lets everyday investors follow the price of a basket of fourteen heavily traded raw materials—crude oil, heating oil, wheat, gold, and others—across energy, agriculture, and metals, without ever touching a futures contract themselves. It was launched in early 2006 by Deutsche Bank, whose initials still linger in the "DB" of its name and ticker even after the fund moved to Invesco years later. A pioneer in offering broad commodity exposure in one convenient fund, it helped open the commodity markets to retail investors.
