Rti International Metals Inc
A maker of titanium and specialty metal products, RTI International Metals supplied mill products, forged parts, and engineered components for aerospace, defense, energy, and medical devices — everything from fuselage and engine parts to surgical implants. Founded in 1950 as Mallory-Sharon Titanium Corp., it renamed itself several times before settling on RTI. One quirk: its earlier name, Reactive Metals Inc., was shared with a separate Ohio plant that secretly produced uranium tubes for nuclear weapons during the Cold War, so the two got conflated. The company was acquired by Alcoa in 2015.
