Uranerz Energy Corporation

A U.S.-based uranium mining company that pulled uranium from Wyoming ground using in-situ recovery, a method that dissolves the mineral in place and pumps the solution to the surface for America's nuclear utilities. Founded in 2005, its name is German for "uranium ore," a nod to an earlier German Uranerz Group whose former staff launched the American venture. It built Wyoming's Nichols Ranch project before being merged into Energy Fuels in 2015.
