Glimcher Realty Trust
A real estate investment trust that owned, developed, and managed shopping malls and community centers across the United States. It traces back to 1959, when Herbert Glimcher turned his Columbus, Ohio lumber business into a company that built discount stores for tenants like Kmart and, by the 1970s, full-scale regional malls. The trust took its name from its founder and went public in 1994, before being folded into Washington Prime Group in 2015, which then renamed itself WP Glimcher.
