Kalobios Pharmaceuticals Inc

A biopharmaceutical company founded in 2000 in South San Francisco, KaloBios developed monoclonal antibody treatments for cancer and neglected tropical diseases such as Chagas disease. Its name blends the Greek roots "kalo" (good or beautiful) and "bios" (life). It became famous in late 2015 when Martin Shkreli took over as CEO, only to be arrested weeks later; the company filed for bankruptcy, reemerged in 2016, and renamed itself Humanigen in 2017.
