Resolute Energy Corporation

An independent oil and gas producer that drilled crude and natural gas in the Delaware Basin of west Texas and New Mexico, Resolute Energy was born in 2004 when an investment vehicle merged with a small Rocky Mountain explorer to create a public company based in Denver. Its unusual origin: the company name came from the merger deal itself, not from any founder. After early years drilling in Utah and Wyoming, it shifted focus to the Permian Basin, and Cimarex Energy acquired it in 2019.
