Coleman Cable, Inc.
A maker of electrical wire and cable, Coleman Cable produced extension cords, power strips, portable lighting, and wiring used in homes, construction, and industry. Founded in 1970 and based in Waukegan, Illinois, the company's name traces to the multi-generational Coleman family long active in the wire-and-cable trade. In 2014 it was bought by Southwire, one of North America's largest cable producers, and its brand still shows up on products at big-box home stores.
